Shelia Barnwell, past President; Carolyn Price, past Vice President; Jackie Brooks, past Treasurer; and Betty Yaw, past Secretary; for their contributions to the Society for 2006-2007.

I received a phone call from Shelia Barnwell stating that she had counted the ASH election ballots for 2008-2009 and Rita Humphrey, HT (ASCP) QIHC has been elected to the office of President, Sally Jordan, HT (ASCP) has been elected to the office of Vice President, Mary Ann Paige, HT (ASCP) has been elected to the office of Secretary, and Danitra Blevins, HTL (ASCP) been elected to the office of Treasurer! We are all committed to serve the members of the Alabama Society for Histotechnology, provide excellence in education standards, provide an exchange of information and achieve recognition for the histotechnologist. Statewide we invite each of you to become involved with your organization. Alabama is hosting the 2009 National Society for Histotechnology Annual Symposium/Convention which will be held in Birmingham, Alabama.

The ASH will have a business meeting on March 14, 2008. Should anyone statewide have a proposal that they would like to add to the agenda please email me at . The meeting will be 12:30 until 1:00PM.
