Future of the website

If you have any interest in maintaining this web presence for the Alabama State Society for Histotechnology please contact us.  If no one steps forward we will need to take the site down, due to lack of interest.  My recommendation is that someone take the url (http://www.alhistology.org) and create a joomla site, or something equivalent. The present site does not have enough content to worry about.

President’s Message

We all had a great time in Pittsburgh, PA. The workshops were great. It is always good to visit with old friends. I enjoyed visiting with the vendors. Pittsburgh is a beautiful city and the people are friendly. We all had a wonderful time at the PR booth.  Annie Williams with the Greater Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau, Birmingham, Alabama joined us. She provided a wealth of information concerning Birmingham, Alabama for the people visiting the PR Booth. We want to thank our supports as follows; Bud’s Cookies, Peanut Depot, and Royal Cup Coffee.

Resident’s Resources

PEIR

The PEIR Residents Resources site was created with the purpose of establising a gateway to useful educational resources on the Web in the field of Pathology. The Internet is a very powerful informational tool, but finding specific information can be difficult due to the information overflow on the Web and the considerable “noise” that confounds the character and quality of the matches obtained by using Web search tools. The focus of this site is on Web pages and online documents with an educational content. Emphasis is placed on sites with ample illustrations and sites that can be accessed for free. Links to commercial sites are not included unless the site has clear educational content. In many cases the links are made directly to the educational subdirectories of those sites, rather than linking to the main page. The main categories were intentionally made to illustrate the various kinds of Web resources that are of potential educational value in Pathology. This links database is an ongoing project where the links are classified in numerous subcategories.
